16 February 2009 @ OT301
This concert will be taking place at OT301 at the usual time of 21:30.
Set 1:
Kenta Nagai
Shamisen / electric fretless guitar.
Kenta Nagai is an audio-visual artist and performer, originally from Niigata Japan. He performs both traditional and experimental music, specialising in strings, especially the traditional Japanese shamisen. His keen sense of physicality is reflected in his current exploration of the physical properties of sound and its impact on human emotion and the body. He currently lives and works in New York City and is in Amsterdam for a residency at Steim.
Set 2:
John Wiese
Solo electronics
John Wiese is an artist and composer from Los Angeles, California. As an artist using very basic noise as a raw material, he creates performances which have maximum impact, and because of his long and proven history making noise on the international stage he is a musician who tours regularly, performing alone and collaborating with many stellar names including Sunn O))), Wolf Eyes, Merzbow, and C. Spencer Yeh. His own groups include Sissy Spacek and LHD and surely there can't be many performers out there with as many album credits as this guy.
This is sure to be an intense show.
