Robin Hayward
- solo tuba
Robin Hayward returns to DNK having played previously in two duets with Axel Dörner and Annette Krebs. In this solo performance he will play noise-based pieces from his second solo CD / LP States of Rushing.
Hayward was born in Brighton, England and moved to Berlin in 1998. He has redefined the tuba’s potential both in the areas of noise and microtonality and his specific playing ability has been utilized by composers such as Alvin Lucier and Christian Wolf. Touring extensively in ensembles and solo, he has worked with many luminary figures in contemporary music, including Anthony Braxton and John Butcher.
Gordon Mumma
1. Conspiracy 8 (1970)
2. The Dresden Interleaf 13 February 1945 (1965)
The tape music of Gordon Mumma is seldom heard on the concert stage. In an attempt to rectify this DNK has decided to play two of his electronic music works. Essentially this is a listening performance where you have an opportunity to familiarise yourself with the music of Mumma on a perfectly tuned sound system.
