(un)finished business
Huis a/d Werf presents (un)finished business, an evening where DNK supplies sound art accompaniment in the form of Tao G. Vrhovec Sambolec's Solid Sound.
The evening takes place at Huis a/d Werf in Utrecht and reservations are advised (see below).
Solid Sound (2010)
An installation by Tao G. Vrhovec Sambolec.
Materials: TeethphonesTM, sound, light.
Supported by Fonds BKVB.
Solid Sound is a mixed media installation commissioned by Moonlife Concept Store - an exhibition of prototypes for future life on the Moon. Featuring TeethphonesTM - a self invented device which enables humans to listen to sound in vacuum, the installation Solid Sound transforms our mouth into a hearing organ, creating an experience of sound as it will be perceived by future generations of mutated Moon population.
COLLABORATION
Inari Salmivaara, Pedro Inês and André Avelãs bought furniture from a bankrupt business. With nothing but these pieces of furniture, some pens and a stack of paper they locked themselves up in one of the studios at Huis a/d Werf for three weeks. Motivated by survival mechanisms and a do-it-yourself spirit they departed from the notion of the crisis, with minimal means, and set off for a hopeful collaboration.
Woonmachine
Woonmachine is both a modernist glass house and a black box with which Laurent Liefooghe explores the boundaries between 'real living' and living in a stage set. The use of sound and lighting, but also of automated curtains and appliances, suggests a 'day in the life' in a 37- minute cycle.
