Music / performance by:
Bert Scholten

Bert Scholten is often thought of as a contemporary troubadour, resorting to a tradition where songs were a means of spreading stories. Finding their origin in folk stories or local news items, Scholten investigates these stories and seeks out different histories. In performance he uses instruments and electronics. Just as folk tales change through time, taking different forms and meanings, Scholten often adjusts them to the context of the performance.

Alongside is autonomous art practice, Bert is also the founder of the Dutch label Het Generiek.

Location: 'Budapest', Pesthuislaan, Amsterdam Oud West. Pesthuislaan is a pedestrian street, look for the large Buddha in the garden, behind this is the entrance.
